Behind the Blog: Why I Write

Out of the many reasons pushing me to start this project, my main motivation was to learn how to be a better writer and storyteller. Since I was younger, writing for me has not always been my strongest attribute.

I remember nights where I would ruminate over assignments and get so frustrated that I would rework the words until the sun rose. It was not that the work was difficult, but it was the lack of confidence. However, as I grew into adolescent and adulthood, I began to realize the power the comes with being able to communicate effectively. Just like learning an instrument or picking up a new hobby, it is not as easy in the beginning. Day by day, I would practice by writing business reports, LinkedIn blog posts, or even fun social media captions. Eventually, I became confident in my own voice.

In fact, so much so, I started to enjoy writing instead of backing away from it. Being able to transform all my scattered thoughts and slowly work them into a cohesive piece allows me to be creative and have a vehicle to share my ideas. Writing can definitely be a way to capture emotions in the moment and store itself in a time capsule. I digress, but I am excited to be able to have a space where I can share my thoughts from time to time.

My ultimate goal of this blog is to one day be able to look back and reminisce over all the adventures I had and to share them with my friends and family. Furthermore, it would be cool to be able to show my children a piece of my life and maybe help them learn a thing or two.

What skill was difficult for you in the past, but you learned to be passionate about? Love to hear it in the comments below!
